This original HJ Dienstbuch or Hitler Youth Service Record Book was issued to Maria Schützinger of Marquartstein, a small picturesque town just south of the Chiemsee in Bavaria, between Rosenheim and Berchtesgaden.

With every entry was the date, hours worked and the signature and rank of the BdM person in charge. Interestingly, half the entries are also signed off by the father of Maria Schützinger, Mathias Schützinger, who wrote down his Nazi Party member ship number (151237) on several pages in the designated spot. Maria’s mother also signed to witness some of the pages.

Absolutely original to the Third Reich period in Germany and in very good used condition with a tight binding, exactly as shown.

When doing an internet search for the family name in Marquartstein, results show a lot of Schützingers still live there. They include a well-known soccer player, business and even a private guest house.

We have sold hundreds of Third Reich documents over the last 40+ years, but we seldom encountered a thick Hitler Youth Dienstbuch like this one, with 96 pages. We rarely see a Nazi service record or document that did not list the date of birth of the owner!

This 4-1/8 x 5-5/8 inch, 96 page HJ Dienstbuch has entries from 29 January 1936 through 18 March 1938, carefully chronicling Maria Schützinger’s work at a BdM home, a Hitlerjugend Heim, the Prinzregent and the Neues Schloß, a castle at Marquartstein which housed a boarding school. On 12 March 1938 she even got credit for the Fackelzug, a night-time torch light procession (see image above).
