This is an absolutely original and very historical broadside, an Extra-Edition of the Neues Wiener Tagblatt (New Vienna Daily Newspaper, a high-circulation newspapers in the second largest city of Nazi Germany). The one-sided 12 x 18-½ inch news bulletin or broadside announces the start of the hostilities between Nazi Germany and Poland and was made to be posted everywhere to call attention to the very big news in the paper.

Above the fold is Adolf Hitler’s war message to the Wehrmacht, “From Now On - Violence against Violence!” Below the fold is the first report about attacks by Polish bandits and civilian fighters on several German border stations.

There are two additional announcements by the Minister of Aviation and the Supreme Commander of the Luftwaffe, Generalfeldmarschall Hermann Göring. The first is a decree canceling all agreements and forbidding air travel by foreign airplanes above Nazi Germany, and the second announces the closing of German schools until further notice.

This unique 85+ year old rare and historical piece of World War II ephemera was produced by the New Vienna Daily and is in excellent condition as it was folded through the middle, saved flat and away from light since the start of the Polenfeldzug! IT IS NOT A REPRODUCTION, and we doubt we will ever see another one! No writing, no odor, no tears, no pinholes and no tape.
