NAZI 3-D BOOK WITH PICTURE VIEWER 1937

Raumbild-Verlag book ,,Tag der Deutsche Kunst’’
This is a fine example of the very scarce Raumbild-Verlag book ,,Tag der Deutschen Kunst’’ (Day of German Art) by Albert Burckhard Müller. This 64-page, 8 x 11-1/2 inch hardcover book was published in Diessen am Ammersee in 1937 with an introduction by Professor Adolf Ziegler.
Nazi Army Soldiers
If you are not familiar with this Nazi three-dimensional book, you need to know that it consists of a well-written text by Müller about the occasion of the opening of the Haus der deutschen Kunst (House of German Art) in München (Munich) in 1937.

,,TAG DER
DEUTSCHEN KUNST’’
(DAY OF GERMAN ART)

1937 Nazi 3D Photo Book
Raumbild Verlag (Three Dimensional Picture Publishers) books were unique in that they contained photographic stereo-view cards and a fold-up metal device with which the cards could be viewed.

Hitler in his Mercedes-Benz
The first 22 stereo cards are correctly pasted on eight black pages in the text provided for that purpose. These must be viewed with the viewer in the collapsed position.

The special covers of this album are about 1/2-inch thick and are die-cut with four cavities that hold 100 special Heinrich Hoffmann 3-D stereo photographs (real photographs - NOT halftone prints) and the metal viewer with glass lenses that is set up to view the photographs.
Feldherrnhalle in München
The special covers of this album are about 1/2-inch thick and are die-cut with four cavities that hold 100 special Heinrich Hoffmann 3-D stereo photographs (real photographs - NOT halftone prints) and the metal viewer with glass lenses that is set up to view the photographs. The 100 stereo photos each measure 2-3/8 x 5 inches and have a full description of the subject printed on the back. When seen in the viewer each picture is incredibly three-dimensional, almost as if the scene was being viewed in real life.
Hitler during Parade
We know of no other way for a history buff to observe a three-dimensional view of the city of München decorated for one of the most festive days in its history, the first Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung, the arrival of the Führer, Hitler’s huge Mercedes-Benz car, statues for the Olympic Grounds in Berlin and Josef Thorak’s monument for the Reichsautobahn.
Nazi Bust: Adolf Hitler
Naturally, the subject of opening of the House of German Art covers quite a wide range.

Among the 100 three-dimensional views are paintings, sculptures and other works of by famous and not so famous German artists such as Giessler, Elk Eber, Becker, Gradl, Junghanns, Theodor Kärner, Kaspar, Klemm, Richard Klein, etc. There are even several pictures of artwork exhibited in the Entartete Kunst (Degenerate Art) exhibition.

Degenerate Art - Entartete Kunst
This very rare book is hardbound in white linen with red blocking on the covers and the spine. It is complete with all pictures, metal viewer and original instructions.
